How to Measure Shades

Measuring the Length



	Measure the full height of your window opening from top frame to lower sill. (We will add 12" to your measurement.) This extra 12" is the "safety margin" to permit the shade to be drawn full length with no danger of it being torn from the roller.


	Measuring the Width


	Inside Bracket Mounting (IBM)


	Measure the exact distance between the points where the brackets are to be placed, inside the window casement. (We will allow for bracket clearance.)


	Outside Bracket Mounting (OBM)


	Measure between the points where the brackets are to be placed. It is recommended that the brackets be placed to allow 1/2" to 2" overlap on each side of the casement.


	To Replace Old Shades


	Width: Measure your old roller (not the cloth) from the outside edge of one metal cap to the other. Measure as shown and specify "barrel measure." Be sure to measure length next.

How to Install Shades

Standard Installation - Inside or Outside Brackets

Bracket with open slot mounts on left side.
Bracket with round hole mounts on right side.
Hold rolled-up shade in position where brackets are to be installed.
Mark location where brackets are to be installed.
Screw brackets in place using two screws per bracket. Be sure brackets are level.
Hang shade in brackets. Insert pin end of shade first in right bracket with round hole. Then place other end in open slot bracket.

Shade is ready to operate.

Reverse Roll Mounted Shades

Inside Installation

Bracket with open slot on right side.
Bracket with hole on left side.

Position brackets and proceed as in points 3 through 7.

Outside Installation

Bracket with open slot on right side.
Bracket with hole on left side.

Position brackets and proceed as in points 3 through 7.
